Secured and Unsecured Personal Loans

Consider a secured or unsecured personal loan when you need additional cash for a relatively short period of time. The following descriptions provide a summary of our many personal loan products. Secured Personal Loans

Share Secured Loan (Savings or Term Certificate)

Use you credit union savings or term certificate account as collateral for a share secured loan. Borrow up to 100 percent of the amount you have on deposit at the credit union. Funds used as collateral will not be available for transactions/withdrawal by the member while being held as loan collateral. IRA accounts are not eligible for collateral, and the credit union will not accept deposit accounts held in other institutions as collateral for a credit union share secured loan. Funds secured for the loan continue to earn a dividend during the term of the loan.

“Fresh Start” Credit Builder Loan

This secured loan allows you to build a positive credit history for yourself and improve your credit rating over time. Get approved for this loan and the credit union will hold the loan funds until after the loan has been repaid in full. Pay off the loan and the credit union will release the full amount of the loan plus all dividends to the borrower. Once the loan is paid in full, the credit union will file a positive loan payment report with the credit reporting agency. Members who successfully repay the Fresh Start loan are often able to borrow more money at a lower interest rate than previously possible.

Unsecured Personal Loan

This loan option may be used to pay for education, home improvements, vacation, medical bills, and other expenses. The maximum term for an unsecured loan is 36 months for qualified members. Eligibility for an unsecured loan is based on your past credit history, savings account balance, and other credit union loan approval guidelines.

Credit Card
Scotland Community Credit Union offers a member-friendly low-fee VISA credit card program. Our Visa credit cards carry the Self-Help Credit Union name, and offer two levels of credit for qualified members: Classic and Platinum. Qualify for a Platinum credit card and enjoy the benefit of CashBack rewards on all eligible purchases made with the platinum credit card.

Our Visa credit cards have a fixed interest rate, no annual fee, and a reasonable payment schedule. Credit card applicants and cardholders are subject to credit approval. Certain late fees do apply. Contact your credit union loan officer for more information and to apply for your new credit card.
           
Online Credit Card Account Management:
Use your computer to pay your credit card bill, and to get up-to-date information on your credit union VISA account. To do so, visit the eZ Card website at https://www.ezcardinfo.com. The eZ Card website is a separate site governed by another firm's privacy policy. Access to your account is password protected for your security.
